I was born and raised in Kenosha and attended Forest Park as a child. My parents have called me a professional student many times. I enjoy learning and going back to school, to be the best teacher I can be. I earned a biology degree from UW-Parkside in 2004. I worked for one year at the Medical College of Wisconsin, doing biological research. Then, in 2005, I began substitute teaching for KUSD and loved it. In 2007, I earned an elementary/middle school certification from Carthage College and began teaching full time. I earned my masters in education in Teacher Leadership in 2009, my reading license in 2010 and my ESL license in 2014. Who knows what I will learn next?!
I was married in 2015 to my wonderful husband, Harry. We welcomed our daughter, Grace, in July 2016. She is truly amazing. She teaches me new things every day. I love reading to her and making her laugh. It warms my heart to make her happy.
In my free time, I enjoy walking my crazy dog, Billie, and reading. I’m in a book club with my oldest friends, most of whom are teachers. I have read hundreds of books, but my favorite is still From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg. I can’t wait to share it with Grace!
