Frog Jumping Pictures

Our first unit in science was on comparing and measuring. In this activity the children are using flippers (which we called frogs). The children placed their "frog" at a starting line, pressed the flipper, and released it to see how far it would go. They had three opportunities to do this. They took measurements from the starting point to where the "frog" landed. After the data was gathered from the three jumps, the children created one addition and one subtraction sentence. Included with each was also a number model. The kids did a great job!
